Mentally challenged minor gives birth to boy child, youth arrested on rape charges

Balasore 26 Aug: Balasore youth arrested for allegedly raping mentally disabled minor girl in Basta district of Balasore.

Balasore police arrested the youth. He is believed to be a distant relative of the girl who was reportedly mentally challenged and gave birth at Balasore shelter home to a boy.

According to a woman social activist of ‘Nari Sangha’, the girl was living with her mother and three brothers who are physically challenged in many ways. The minor girl was allegedly raped by a relative, and she became pregnant.

After being informed, the Nari Sangha provided shelter for the girl and her blind mom. The girl then gave birth on Thursday.
