Nick Cannon, TV host and comedian, has become a dad eight times. This just weeks after he said that he was trying to combat the “underpopulation crisis” by having nine children with five women.
The 41 year-old father has welcomed his eighth baby, a son named Legendary love, to his 31-yearold wife Bre Tiesi. Bre shared the news on Instagram that she had delivered their first child together in June 28th. This was weeks after Nick, 31, confirmed that he is having a ninth baby with former partner Abby De La Rosa, 31.
While Nick celebrates the birth of his eighth child, FEMAIL shines a spotlight upon Nick’s other children. They will soon be older siblings to his two remaining babies.
Ex-wife Mariah Carey, daughter Monroe and Moroccan Scott, 11 year old son
Mariah Carey married Nick in 2008. The couple welcomed their first child on April 30, 2011. They had twins Monroe and Moroccan Scott. The Carey family as pictured in 2018.
Nick and Mariah Carey tied the knot on in the Bahamas in 2008, and they welcomed the rapper’s first kids on April 30, 2011 – a set of twins named Monroe and Moroccan Scott.
People reports that Monroe was named after Marilyn Monroe who was said to have been an inspiration to Mariah. Since Mariah does not have a middle name, they decided not to give Monroe a middle name.
As for Moroccan, the idea for his name came from the Moroccan décor in Mariah’s apartment, which is where Nick proposed to her.
His middle name, Scott, is also Nick’s middle name and his grandmother’s maiden name.
In the aftermath of Zen’s suicide, Nick shared his feelings about telling the twins (now 11 years) about Zen’s passing. He also credited Monroe’s support with helping him overcome the tragedy.
Monroe, he stated, is’so pure & so honest’ and he called Monroe his therapist.
“Having to explain that to [then]People reported that a 10-year-old’s attention span is quite intense.
“But their understanding, and being there to me probably helped keep it together as I dealt with it. Roc and Roe in particular. They were with me throughout the whole trip.
‘My daughter really, she’s so enthralled and in line with her age and wise beyond all of my expectations. There were many therapists that I saw, but she is my favorite.
“She keeps me in control. She’s so genuine and open. She is 10 years old and asks powerful, strong questions.
“Really, it’s just love. She’s my oldest daughter. They are twins but she is the one who came out first, and she tells everyone. She has helped me to keep my faith strong.
After the birth of Golden in 2016, Nick spoke out about their relationship with Golden’s younger brother. He revealed that the twins really enjoyed having a baby brother.
Entertainment Tonight heard that they love spending time with him. It is almost as if they are more interested in him having fun than having fun together.
They are always trying to make him laugh and he’s walking now so they want to buy him all the toys.
“Watching the whole older sibling thing happen, they understand the responsibility. It is cool that they understand that they can teach him, and it is also very exciting.
He called them “geniuses” and said he wasn’t happy with their rapid growth.
“I am fine with my son growing-up.” He joked that it was his daughter who I have a problem. ‘I mean, shotgun’s loaded.’
He explained that he and Mariah had reached a point of understanding and unconditional love in 2016, when he was asked how they were co-parenting his twins.
He stated, “When you are open to understanding and unconditional love for all things, there is no way you can go wrong.”
It would be easy to let our egos get in the way of what we think we should do with our time and energy, but then you have to step back.
“When it concerns my kids, it’s whatever they want at whatever hour, and I make my schedule around that.
Both of us consider our children the most important. It turned her into a wonderful mother. I feel like the whole world began to connect with her on this level.
“There will always be unconditional and great love. This is one of my closest friends, so it will always be that.
“The fact that there is no blood tampering and that we can still live together, I believe that that is the best place.

Abby wrote the following message on Instagram in a now-deleted caption: “Our dearest children – my miracle baby, thank you”

In an Instagram Q&A, Abby later revealed that she and Nick accidentally got pregnant in April 2020, but sadly, they lost that baby. They then became determined to get pregnant again.
She explained that although April 2020 was the first pregnancy, it was not planned. However, Nick was a great friend of mine and was so helpful to me. Then, our focus shifted to having a child. We didn’t know that we would have twins.
This planning was more than us sitting down with a planner and thinking, “You gotta become pregnant by this day.” It was already a thought, and it came to pass.
“It was already out there, it wasn’t something we were manifesting. We were just letting it flow.”
They are now gearing up for their third child together, but the gender of this baby is not yet known.
Bre Tisi, a legendary love for a newborn son, has remarried.

He shared the happy news with viewers on his now-cancelled talk show, The Nick Cannon Show. He said at the time: “It’s actually a boy!” We learned the news yesterday. Everyone knows that I have many children. It’s not a contest. Each one is unique.
Bre took to Instagram to announce the birth of the couple’s son, Legendary Love, on Monday, revealing in a candid post that their baby had arrived in an ‘all natural unmedicated home birth’, while heaping praise on Nick for ‘showing the f up’ and being ‘an amazing and supportive partner’.
She wrote “I did it,” while sharing black-and-white photos of her labor and birth. “All natural, unmedicated home birth.
“This was a deeply empowering, limit pushing and humbling experience. I can’t thank my team enough for delivering my son safely. This experience has changed me forever and I couldn’t [have] A more supportive and amazing partner was requested.

A photo of the proud mom and dad with their newborn baby also shows Nick cutting his son’s umbilical chord, while wrapping a protective arm around his son and partner Bre, who also shared video footage from her birth on YouTube.
‘The vlog of my birth is now live on my YouTube,’ she revealed. ‘I have documented my pregnancy, natural induction, labor, delivery as well as more information and resources for doulas midwife’s and hypno birthing. It’s real raw and I hope It helps anyone considering an unmedicated home birth.’
In her YouTube video, Bre documented her experience of labor, sharing clips of herself trying to work through the pain of her contractions and impending delivery – with Nick by her side the whole time.
The new mom revealed that the couple’s son Legendary Love weighed 8lbs 10oz at birth and measured at 21 inches, adding in an intro slide: ‘Trigger warning. This video is quite intense. It is my real and raw natural birth experience with a lot of screaming and [it] is a little graphic.
‘Viewer discretion advised.’
She also revealed that the couple had something of a scare during the birth, explaining that her son had a ‘long crown’ because his hand was up by his ear when he was born – a condition known as nucal hand.
‘So he needed a little respiratory support from [my midwife],’ she wrote. ‘I noticed he wasn’t crying…’
Son Zen with Alyssa Scott

Nick met Alyssa Scott when they both starred in MTV’s Wild ‘N Out. Years later – in January 2021 – they announced that they were having a baby together.
Their son, Zen, was born on June 23, 2021, with Alyssa writing at the time, ‘I will love you for eternity.’
But when the baby was two months old, they noticed he had come down with a cough that wouldn’t go away, and decided to have it checked out by doctors.
‘I always noticed he had a cough and so I wanted to check it out,’ Nick later said on The Nick Cannon Show.
‘He had this interesting breathing and by the time he was two months, I noticed he had this nice sized head too, we called it a Cannon head.
‘We didn’t think anything of it, but I wanted to take him to the doctor for his sinus and breathing.’
After taking the newborn in for a ‘routine’ checkup, they were told he had a malignant tumor and needed emergency surgery immediately.
He had also developed hydrocephalus – a condition where fluid builds up in the cavities of the brain causing the head to increase in size and ultimately putting pressure on the brain.
He unfortunately passed away on December 5, 2021 – spending his last moments by the ocean.

‘He was the most loving. We called him Z Chilling. He was always smiling. He had the most beautiful spirit,’ Nick said after his death.
On the Today show, Nick praised Alyssa – ‘who carried a beautiful child for nine months and nurtured and cared for him every single day through this process’ – for her ‘strength.’
‘[Alyssa] is strong,’ he said. ‘She is definitely one of the strongest individuals I’ve known.
‘I couldn’t imagine – I mean, as a father, it’s painful, but for a mother who carried a beautiful child for nine months and nurtured and cared for him every single day through this process.
“There were so many medications and so many trips the hospital and doctor made, and she’s also a mother of two so it was interesting to see her through this …’
He said that he was using his faith to help him through the terrible loss.
‘I’m taking this – my therapist says so – five minutes at the time. However, I’m optimistic in finding the meaning through all of the pain so I’m trying smile. There are certainly some curves along the journey so I’m only taking it five minutes at the time.
‘Honestly [there] There was a lot to fear. [in telling people about Zen’s death]. I am so used to being positive, outspoken, and vulnerable that I will talk about any topic.
“But this was probably one of the most delicate and precious things I have ever had to speak about.
“And I didn’t have the words to describe it. I had never imagined that I would be forced to live in this situation. There was so much love and there was clearly some fear.
Alyssa said, “I wanted be the protector of all my family. [everyone]So I decided to… Even when we are talking about it, it’s delicate.
He stated that he was using his faith as well as therapy to get through the enormous loss.
In January 2022, the star admitted that he was ‘still missing his little dude’ Zen, while sharing a throwback photo of Moroccan, Zion, Zillion, and Monroe sitting with him, as he held Zen
“And that’s coming as a person who is used in talking to people every and everyday live here on television.” It’s scary.’
Nick spoke about his guilt at having to choose between fatherhood and work after Nick’s death.
‘I’m a father first and foremost. He admitted that he feels a lot of guilt and talks about it in therapy.
It’s due to not being able to spend enough time with my loved ones, especially my children.
“I am also spread thin in my job because that’s how it works for me. That’s how I deal.
“I have many jobs, and I’m involved in several movies, shows, and music. While I like to be a provider for many people, I know one thing is certain: no matter how much I make, I can’t generate time.
“It’s not all about quantity. It’s all about quality. It’s about quality moments with my kids, with my family.
“Had many quality moments with Zen during his brief time here. I believe time can be manipulated, but love and happiness are the best.
In an Instagram post, the star confessed that he still misses Zen just days before Bre and his gender reveal party in January 2022.
‘Still missing my little dude… His spirit and brightness were so strong #ZensLight,’ he captioned a throwback snap that showed Moroccan, Zion, Zillion, and Monroe sitting with him, as he held Zen.
He continued: “The whole family, I miss you young King!” Forever Our Angel!’
