Michelle Petri MD looks back at a patient she saw in her first days of clinic at Johns Hopkins. The patient was pregnant, and she had systemic lupus. She was concerned that she would have to end the pregnancy. Dr. Petri offered a different perspective.
Dr Petri assured her patient, citing the success of high-risk pregnancies and that she would be willing to support her throughout the pregnancy. The Hopkins Lupus Pregnancy Center has successfully delivered over 700 SLE-positive women.
