Ukraine: Medic freed from Russian captivity gives birth to daughter

Ukrainian military medic Mariana Mamonova (a Ukrainian military medic) was freed from Russian captivity only a few days back. She gave birth to a daughter on Sunday, Ukrainian media reported. Doctors rate the health of both mother and child as excellent.

Ms. Mamonova was in Mariupol and was taken prisoner at the beginning of April. She was held in Olenivka, a Russian-controlled region of eastern Ukraine.There were dozens of Ukrainian prisoners who were killed in an explosion which experts believe was caused by Russia.
