Rihanna is giving insight into her and A$AP Rocky’s choice to keep their baby boy’s name and photo private, five months after his arrival.
“We just didn’t get around to it yet really,” the singer said in a Washington Post interview published Monday.
“We’ve just been living,” the Grammy winner, 34, continued. “But I guess there’s a certain freedom that comes with kind of just, like, getting it out there.”
Fenty creator, May Fenty gave birth to the 5-month old and has since kept him out of the public eyes.
E! interviewed Rihanna as well. Rihanna also spoke to E! News Monday. She said that she thinks of Monica Braithwaite now that she has a child of her own.
“It is weird,” the “Lift Me Up” singer told the outlet. “Even the little things that annoy me about her, I do it. I have the same face. I often repeat the same things. I clean my throat in the same way. I move my mouth the same way.”
She added, “I either never noticed it or it never happened until I had a baby.”
Now that Rihanna is on the “other side” of pregnancy, she is excited to get back to work, with her Savage X Fenty Vol. 4 show later in the week, as well as her highly anticipated Super Bowl performance next Feb.
“Once you get to the other side, you’re like, ‘I gotta get back,’” the lingerie designer explained. “There’s something that just happens.”
Rihanna announced her pregnancy in January with an outdoor photo shoot. She spent the next few months showing off her bump in daring looks.
The makeup mogul’s maternity style inspired other moms, including model Shanina Shaik.
“She definitely paved the way,” the Victoria’s Secret Angel, 31, told Page Six in October. “I think it’s just about empowering women and understanding that once a woman is pregnant, our life is not on pause.
“We can go to events and function like a normal human being.”
