Jennifer Aniston spent years trying to get pregnant — and all the while, the media was either spreading rumors about a baby bump or blaming the actor for putting her career over parenthood.
“It was really hard,” Aniston, 54, said in an interview for Allure’s December 2022 cover story.
Interview: “Friends” star Danielle Pergament told Danielle Pergament, journalist, that it was hard for her to have a baby and that years of speculation made it even harder.
“I was going through IVF and drinking Chinese teas. Pergament said she was “throwing everything at it.” “I would give anything if someone had told me to freeze my eggs. Do yourself a favor. It is impossible to imagine it. Here I am today. The ship has left port.”
Aniston wasn’t specific about when or how many years she was trying to be a mom. She was married from 2000 to 2005 to Brad Pitt, and to Justin Theroux in 2015 to 2017.
Aniston wrote an article for The Huffington Post in 2016 about the media’s obsession with her potential motherhood. “For the record: I am Not She wrote, “I am pregnant.” “What am I?” she wrote. Are you fed up? Aniston said that, more than being hurt by the pregnancy rumors she told Allure she was angry by comments about her selfishness.
Aniston stated, “I just cared for my career.” “And God forbid that a woman who is successful doesn’t have children. My husband left me because I refused to give him a child. That was why we ended our marriage. She claimed that it was complete lies.
The Golden Globe winner also said that she doesn’t regret anything. “I feel a lot of relief now, because there isn’t more, ‘Can you? Maybe. Maybe. Maybe.’ She said, “I don’t need to think about it anymore.”
IVF does not guarantee a baby
In vitro fertilization occurs when sperm and eggs are mixed in a laboratory, before the embryo is either frozen or placed directly into the uterus.
The procedure can be difficult emotionally. It involves hormone shots, doctor visits and often thousands of dollars. However, there is no guarantee of a child.
Pergament was told by Aniston that she kept her IVF experience secret at first because “there’s so much that I can keep to myself.” However, she was open to telling the truth and putting the record straight. She stated, “I feel like my hibernation is over.” “I have nothing to hide.”
