The couple announced that they had welcomed their second child via surrogate Tuesday, November 15.
Ferguson shared the exciting news on Instagram, writing, “Sad to be away from my @takemeoutbway fam tonight but we ran off to welcome our newest little one, Sullivan Louis Ferguson-Mikita.”
“A special thanks to @drshahinghadir for helping us grow our family & our incredible surrogate and all of the nurses and doctors. We are overjoyed to be a family of four,” the 47-year-old wrote on the post, which included a shot of the doctor who made it all possible.
The post featured a few adorable photos, including one of the newborn wearing a onesie with “Empire” written on the front—a sweet nod to Ferguson’s Broadway play “Take Me Out.”
Ferguson, 37, and his wife, Connie, were seen in the second hospital shot wearing face masks, snuggling up, and holding their newborn baby.
Many well wishes started pouring in to the comments section. Modern Family co-star Sarah Hyland commenting, “The SWEETEST.” Ferguson and Hyland have a close relationship, as he officiated her wedding to Wells Adams This year, earlier.
Broadway’s Stephanie J. Block commented, “What a happy night!! So many blessings to/on all 4 of you (and your surrogate) #family,” as comedian Amy Anderson added, “That’s a solid name there! Congratulations, daddies! ❤️❤️❤️❤️”
Sophia Bush left a simple “Congratulations,” while actress Uzo Aduba weighed in, noting, “Awww. All the best and baby Sullivan, welcome!!”
After almost three years of dating, Ferguson & Mikita married in New York City on July 2013. Their son, Beckett is now two years old.
