A North Carolina mother gave birth to her child and won $100,000 in the lottery within hours.
Brenda Gomez Hernandez Hernandez, 28, bought her $3 Quick Pick ticket at a Concord convenience store, 25 miles from Charlotte. Officials told her that she used her son’s birthdays to determine her numbers.
According to the NC Education Lottery she “matched numbers on 4 white balls and Powerball to win $50,000 in Nov. 9 drawing.” When the 2X Power Play multiplier was applied, the prize doubled to $100,000.
She had already delivered a baby girl not too long ago, according to the NC Education Lottery.

“I feel like she brought me my luck,” Hernandez told lottery officials. “I am so grateful.”
Hernandez took her prize from the headquarters, and she walked away with $65,015 after taxes. She intends to use the money to buy a house.
