Pregnant women who have had their last dose of vaccines six months ago will get a booster shot. This will also apply to breastfeeding women.
“Abdala is a safe and very effective vaccine against Covid-19,” the scientific institution tweeted.
The CIGB recently ratified the Abdala Covid-19 vaccination as safe and effective in fighting the pandemic.
The vaccine is well tolerated. It has a low incidence of mild adverse reactions: 0.07 per 100,000.
Abdala is Latin America’s first Covid-19-vaccinated person.
It has been approved for emergency use by the national regulatory authority since July 2021 after demonstrating 92.28 percent effectiveness to prevent symptomatic diseases and 90 percent effectiveness to treat severe SARS-CoV-2-related patients.
