A series finale gives the creative team a chance to give the fans a heartfelt thank you for the time they’ve invested. M*A*S*H*, Friends, The Big Bang TheoryRecent developments include DC’s StargirlAll of the shows started on the right foot. They didn’t always give the fans what they desired, but they gave them closure. Some shows leave the viewers with a bad taste, such as those that end the show in a big, royal way and leave a bitter taste that can tarnish the entire series. These are the worst TV series endings.
Game of Thrones “The Iron Throne”, 19 May 2019, Game of Thrones
Game of Thrones It was the television series that made it a must-see. The small screen could barely hold the drama of wild battles, dragons and zombies, allegiances lost or won, and the uncertainty of whether any characters would survive to the end. The promise of a satisfying conclusion was made, and the many fans waited eagerly for the Iron Throne. It failed. It was criticized for being boring and not faithful to the core of what it had established so meticulously before. Bran (Isaac Helpstead WrightTyrion (the Tyrion) made him king.Peter DinklageIt was suggested at a meeting, and everyone voted. But it was able to continue downhill.
Battlestar Galactica “Daybreak” Part 3 (March 20, 2009)
Battlestar Galactica, The reboot of the iconic sci-fi TV series of 1970s (and the ill fated). Battlestar Galactica 1980The other case is that of a must-see television show that promised many answers, but only a few. Like Game of ThronesThe show incorporated politics, suspense and philosophy with action (there were no dragons, only Cylons). The rescue of human-Cylon hybrid Hera is the final act.Iliana Gomez-MartinezThey discover Earth and leave their technology behind to live peacefully on it. This is exactly 150,000 years from now. StarbuckKatee Sackhoff) is an Angel, who disappears after fulfilling her destiny, Hera is “Eve”, and the events are all summed up “as all part of God’s plan”. The word that you are searching for is huh?
Dexter: “Remember The Monsters?” (September 22, 2013)
It’s a difficult thing to have a serial killer as the main character of the show. Dexter It was able to do that for seven seasons. It only ran for 8. It ran for 8. The beloved series pulled it all together, and it was going well in the end. That was the beginning: Debra (Jennifer Carpenter) was Dexter’s (Michael C. Hall) final victim, he parted with Hannah (Yvonne Strahovski) and his son Harrison (Jadon WellsDexter was aware that he was a bad person just like the others he’d killed over the years. Dexter’s story would be ended with a reckoning which, despite Dexter’s rationale, was righteous. He’s alive and a lumberjack now that he has escaped his past. What the hell is this?
How I Met Your Mother: “Last Forever” (March 31, 2014).
Okay, here’s the pitch. The show is about a man… let us call him Ted (Josh RadnorHe tells his children about the events that lead him to meet their mother. We discuss her identity and introduce his friends. Then we wrap up the show with their funny antics. We don’t. Instead, we introduce and kill the mother in the finale. Ted is blessed with the blessing of his kids to pursue Robin.Cobie Smulders). Yes, Robin. Aunty Robin, even though their relationship was long over, and they were married, he still pursues her. This is how I know people will love it!
Dinosaurs: “Changing Nature” (July 20, 1994)
Jim Henson Productions Dinosaurs The Sinclairs were a funny family sitcom that featured their anthropomorphic dinosaur-like family, the Sinclairs. Their antics took place in 60,000,000.003 B.C. From 1991 to 1994 it was a hit with viewers. It was lighthearted and fun, and introduced the world to Baby Sinclair’s catchphrase “Not the Mama”.Kevin Clash) as he hits his father Earl (Stuart PankinYou can use a variety of objects to make the show. Although the show tackled some serious themes, it was a half-hour of fun on Friday nights. This made the series’ dark and ominous finale seem out of place. The short version is that a factory is built on top of the swamp where a particular beetle lived. This effectively wipes out the species. To stop the creeping vines from growing out of control, beetles used a defoliant to kill them. Bombs are used to revive plants. They are dropped into planet’s volcanoes in an attempt to produce rain clouds. But instead it brings snow. This led to the Ice Age and the end for the dinosaurs. This is how the series ends. The family is left shivering as the snow falls outside, forever traumatizing a new generation of TV viewers.
True Blood: Thank You (August 24, 2014).
True Blood It was possible to be different. It was gory, funny, diverse, bizarre, deep and a metaphor to the LGBT community. Fans still find it offensive to this day that the finale was so drastically different. It’s crime? Just being meh. Bland. Vanilla. Conservative. Lafayette (one of my favorite characters) was not given enough screen time.Nelsan EllisSome had too little of it, while others had enough. The finale was a disappointment for a show that prided itself on its uniqueness. It ended up looking a lot like series finales, with no hint of humor.
Roseanne: “Into That Good Night”, May 20, 1997
Season 9 Roseanne This was a departure form the working-class family sitcom of its first eight seasons. It included the arc where they won the lottery. “Into That Good Night” attempts a redress but fails spectacularly, using a variation of the tried-and-true. It was all a dream finale trope (see Dallas Oder St. Other). Roseanne (Roseanne BarrAccording to reports, ) has been working on a novel for the entire time. She took liberties with the lives and relationships of others in her life in order make the story better. We were able to see that everything we knew about Season 1 was fabricated. Then, there was the fact that Dan (John GoodmanA year earlier, he had suffered a heart attack. The finale of the series and the season were so vilified that, when the series was revived in 2019, Season 9 was completely ignored.
Two and a Half Men: “Of course He’s dead” (February 19, 2015).
Two and a Half Men While he wasn’t going to win any awards in the end, there were worse ways than spending half an hour. Charlie and Charlie interacted (Charlie Sheen), Alan (Jon Cryer), and the “half-man” Jake (Angus T. JonesAlthough crude at times, it was often quite funny. Sheen quit the show and started a very bizarre and public meltdown. She ranting about “tiger Blood” and other strange topics. Walden was his replacement.Ashton Kutcher), and the show limped along for another four seasons. Creator Chuck LorreHowever, Sheen was not to be let go. And so came “Of Course He’s Dead”, which ultimately was just a big, giant “f**k you” to Sheen resulting in Charlie (a stand-in, not Sheen) being squashed by a piano. The episode was filled with so many digs at Sheen that it could only be explained as Lorre’s catharsis, which came across as incredibly petty.
Quantum Leap: Mirror Image (May 5, 1993).
Finale of series for original Quantum Leap It gets a little pass because NBC didn’t decide to cancel the show until after the Season 5 finale. It wasn’t a bad pass. The series followed Dr. Sam Beckett’s adventures (Scott BakulaAs he “leaped” into different historical bodies to correct historical mistakes, From the beginning, Sam wanted to find his way back in his own time and reunite with his wife. The series is ended with the final episode. The Simpsons episode “The Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Show”, when Poochie is killed off-screen and a title card reads “Poochie died on the way back to his home planet”? Quantum Leap The ending was exactly the same, except that Sam didn’t return home. A title card was added to show this. Beckett’s name was misspelled as “Becket”.
Medical drama is attributed with adjectives St. Other: Gritty, realistic. Ironically, it would end-up being neither. All six seasons took places in the daydream universe of Tommy Westphall, a young boy.Chad Allen). Autistic, by and large, as if that matters. Oops! The hospital building is located in the snow globe of Tommy, which somehow didn’t cause any earthquakes and/or blizzard fallsout episodes.
