Viewers were asked why she had not given such an extravagant gift. The New Yorker explained in a follow-up video that she forgot the goodie bag because “this kind of stuff doesn’t matter to me”.
She also pointed out that it was not possible for her to get it as she was in an upscale private hospital. It is accessible to everyone.
While giving birth at New York-Presbyterian Hospital costs around $37,000 according to Turquoise Health – almost double the average price in America – Sophia said she used her health insurance to cover the costs of pregnancy, delivery and postpartum care.
“I’m just someone who used my insurance to give birth. She tells viewers that it wasn’t like a private bedroom thing.
Sophia, now five years old, commented on the mystery surrounding whereabouts her first goodie bags, which she got when giving birth to her daughter. She said that she gave it to the supervisor at her old apartment so that he could give the bag to his wife.
