Since 2020’s premiere The Real Housewives of Salt Lake CityFans have developed an attachment to the Shah Squad, which includes Jen Shah’s husband Sharrieff and their sons Sharrieff Jr. & Omar. All of them have stood by Jen in her fraud case.
Jen and Stuart Smith, one of their assistants, were arrested in Utah in 2021 for operating a telemarketing scam scheme. Later, they were charged with conspiracy and wire fraud as well as money laundering. Though Jen initially pleaded not guilty in April 2021 — and advocated for her innocence via social media and on RHOSLC — she later changed her plea to guilty in July 2022.
Jen was sentenced to five years of supervision release and 6.5 years prison time on January 6, 2023. As the verdict was rendered, Jen was joined by her husband and their two sons. Jen briefly spoke about her family during her closing statement. She notably mentioned her father and her younger son who were present during the 2021 FBI raid. “To my baby Omar Mommy is so sorry that you were woken at gunpoint. I’m sorry to my late father. Your love and support for me is an inspiration to me.

Jen met her husband when she was a student at the University of Utah during the early 1990s. Sharrieff was a safety for the Utes football teams throughout their courtship. They were married and had Sharrieff Jr. Omar was their second child.

Sharrieff Jr.
During her guest spot at the Right Now Cringing Podcast, Jen reveals that Sharrieff, her husband, fell pregnant while she was still a student at college with Sharrieff Jr. Sharrieff Jr. was conceived on March 10, 1994.
Sharrieff Jr., following in his father’s footsteps was a star football player for the University of Utah from 2014 to 2016. He was a proud father and enjoyed his football career with his dad, the Utes cornerbacks coach. Sharrieff Jr., who graduated with a premedical degree, was offered a position as an orthopedic medical assistant at University of Utah Health.
Sharrieff Jr. only made a few appearances during his mom’s three-season stint. RHOSLC. He was also active in the defense of his mom’s ongoing fraud case. Sharrieff Jr. wrote to the judge, requesting that his mom be viewed “through a prism of forgiveness and compassion”, and that he receive a “sentence on probation” instead of a sentence in jail.

Sharrieff Jr. wrote, “I am writing to you in the hope that my mother’s character will be accurately described and give an idea of her true self.” “I know that my mother has always been positive, regardless of her mistakes.” I’m glad to have learned from her, and that I have come to realize that everyone is flawed and that these flaws don’t negate their positive qualities.
He shared that his mom uses her platform “to support social justice movements and healthcare reform” and empowers others. He said, “While my mom has done and continues doing commendable work, she isn’t perfect.” She has made many mistakes that have caused harm to families and individuals. I’m aware she pled guilty in conspiracy to commit wire fraud. I am deeply sorry for the families affected.”

Although Sharrieff Jr. has his Instagram account set to private, his mom sometimes shares updates and sweet posts about her older son on her profile. She shared a photo of Sharrieff Junior smiling with Omar, his younger brother, in May 2022 and a message to her children.
“To my two beautiful Sons…my greatest achievement in life is being your Mama. Your love and light fills my heart. Your Mama is a blessing and a privilege. You are my heart ♥️,” she captioned the post.
Omar, 19
Omar was born to Jen and Sharrieff in 2003. Omar, like his siblings, has had a lot of success on and off the field. Omar’s senior year saw his high school football team make it to the playoffs. According to an Instagram post from his mom in October 2022.
One of the Shah brothers is named. RHOSLC Omar, who lived at home during Jen’s tenure on the show, is more popular with fans. Omar made frequent appearances, and was present during Jen’s arrest when federal agents raided the Shah chalet. Season two of the television series. RHOSLCJen told castmate Heather Gay that Omar was led out of the Gay’s home by federal agents, who “pulled AR-15s” and handcuffed Omar. Shah’s front-door security camera captured the whole thing.

Jen raised concerns with her therapist about the impact her legal woes have on her children, especially Omar, during a conversation in season 3. “I am worried about Omar as a mom. Did I really f— my children up? To her therapist, she replied. “I’m worried that he’s going though so much as a high-school student. No child should have to go through such a thing.”
Jen apologized to Omar and her family after her January 2023 sentencing.
