Naomi Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam Champion, has just announced that she is pregnant.

Osaka, Japan’s former number one, wrote a touching message to Instagram. “I can’t wait to get back on the court, but here’s a little life update for 2023.”
“One thing I am looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, ‘That’s my mom’,” She wrote. Cordae, a 25-year-old tennis star, has been associated with the rapper for many decades.
Initially, no official reason was provided by the Australian Open when the tournament announced on Saturday that Osaka, a two-time event champion, had withdrawn from this year’s tournament.
Osaka (25), who was crowned the Australian Open 2021 and 2019 champions, last played September when she was forced to withdraw from the Pan Pacific Open Japan.
She took a five-month mental health break in September 2021 and didn’t play again after the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo, shortly after losing in the first round of the US Open.
She lost in the US Open’s first round, the third round at the Australian Open and then missed Wimbledon because of injury.
The No. The No. 47 hard-court specialist lost her spot after she revealed her mental health issues. 47 in the global rankings and hasn’t made it past the third round of a Grand Slam since winning the 2021 Australian Open.
Forbes named Osaka the highest-paid female tennis player for 2022 with earnings of $51.1million. Osaka is Osaka’s latest tennis star who has been barred from competition by pregnancy.
Angelique Kerber from Germany, a three-time Grand Slam Champion, announced her pregnancy on August. After giving birth, she indicated that she would be returning to the game. Serena Williams went on a sabbatical after giving birth to her baby in 2017. She returned in 2017 and competed until 2022.
Osaka and other tennis stars will be missed during the first major this year. Ashleigh Barty, 25, announced her retirement last month. Barty announced last week that she is expecting her first child.
Also, Carlos Alcaraz, the world’s No. 1 men’s player, and Venus Williams, a seven-time Grand Slam champion, will miss the season’s first major due to injuries.
Osaka stated however that she would return to tennis and she plans to be in Melbourne next year for the Grand Slam Season’s opening day.
The Australia Open will be held in Melbourne Park, from January 16th until January 29th. The top seed and clear favourite to win the women’s competition, Iga Swiatek, is ranked No. Number 1.
Rafael Nadal, current champion, will be No. Men’s No. The No. 1 seed will attempt to win his third Australian Open Championship title.
