Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas’ 1-year-old daughter Malti Marie made her debut at this event to celebrate her father and brothers receiving Hollywood Walk of Fame starlets. Malti Marie was photographed during the ceremony in her mother’s arms. The fashionista-like little girl was dressed in a white headband with a cream tweed ensemble.
Chopra wore brown; Jonas matched her daughter in cream or white.
Chopra shared an Instagram picture featuring Malti and Chopra at this event. She also posted Malti’s face as she listened to her father’s comments on her.
Malti was the surrogate daughter of a surrogate mother last January. Later, the couple shared that Malti was prematurely born and spent over 100 days in the NICU. They shared their story and she came home to them last Mother’s Day.
“On this Mother’s Day we can’t help but reflect on these last few months and the rollercoaster we’ve been on, which we now know, so many people have also experienced,” Chopra shared. “After 100 plus days in the NICU, our little girl is finally home. Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is. We are overjoyed that our little girl is finally home, and just want to thank every Doctor, nurse and specialist at Rady Children’s La Jolla and Cedar Sinai, Los Angeles, who were there selflessly every step of the way. We are now in the next chapter, and our baby has proven to be a great little girl. Let’s get it MM! You are loved by Mommy and Daddy. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers and caretakers in my life and out there. It looks so easy. Thank you. Also.. there is no one I’d rather do this with than you. Chopra spoke to recently British Vogue Here are some details about Malti in her first month. Chopra said that she was born one trimester earlier than expected.
“I was in the OR [operating room] When she came out. She was so small, smaller than my hand,” Chopra told the magazine, holding out her palm for scale. “I saw what the intensive-care nurses do. They do God’s work. Nick and me were standing right there as she was intubated. I don’t know how they even found what they needed [in her tiny body] to intubate her.”
Malti was in the NICU for three months, and Jonas Chopra visited Malti every day. “We spent every single day with her on my chest, on my husband’s chest,” Chopra said. “I didn’t know if she would make it or not.” Malti thankfully recently celebrated her first birthday with her parents.
Malti is the first person Malti has ever photographed at an event. Although her parents have shared photos of Malti before, until now, she has kept her face hidden. Today was an exception with Chopra sharing video footage of Malti.
