Sarah Wayne Callies shared some insights about acting while wearing pregnancy prosthetics, recalling her role as Lori Grimes during pregnancy. “No matter what breakfast I had, when I put my belly on, it was hungry. In an interview with AMC, she said that it happened every time. She also shared with AMC that she was not only hungry but had a stomachache by the end each day. Callies adds, “They had the belly in foam originally, but I told them to put the fifteen pounds in — the way a baby would weigh — so I don’t have to act it.”
Callies went all in to portray Lori’s pregnancy, even though it was difficult. However, it is possible to argue that building a family in the midst of a zombie epidemic is not the smartest move. Callies may not agree with what you are trying to say. TVLine interviewed her to explain that there is something special about Judith’s birth, even if it meant the end for Lori. “She is the most powerful symbol for hope and renewal, which is this belief that life can continue and can be renewed.
