MLA of Indian Union Muslim League Dr MK Muineer stated that transgender conception is a hollow concept.
Muneer was speaking at the Wisdom Islamic Conference, Kozhikode, on Sunday. He was referring about the birth of a transgender child to Ziya Paval, and Zahhad Fazil.
Zahhad, who is a transman, has been unable to get hormone therapy to conceive. He was finally able to have a baby on February 8th through Caesarean Section at the Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode.
Kerala’s Minister of Social Justice, R Bindu, celebrated the childbirth and encouraged the public to abandon the idea of a family.
Muneer said that anyone who believes that a transman had a child is living in a fools paradise. He stated that the idea of gender neutrality could lead to division within society.
“How can a man have a baby? A woman wanted to be a man so her breasts had to be removed, but her womb survived. She gives birth, but she is unable breastfeed. Muneer explained that although the outsider may declare that she is now male, the presence and health of her womb is proof that she is still a female.”
The Koduvally MLA stated that homosexual couples cannot conceive. Muneer stated that the claim that a transman gave birth to a child is false. The baby was actually born to a woman.
