It is easy to relate to her attitude towards motherhood.
Katherine Schwarzenegger, a mother to Lyla Maria and Eloise Christina (both under 3 years old), is also a husband and wife to Chris Pratt. She is also a children’s book author and host of the Instagram Live series. BDA Baby (Before During & After Baby). Schwarzenegger admits that sometimes it can be tiring, so he is being honest about being a working mom.
During the DSW’s Best Foot Forward panel on Thursday, Schwarzenegger set the record straight about being the kind of mother who isn’t afraid to ask for help. “I’m a big believer — I feel like on Instagram we see all these moms that are like, ‘I’m doing it all, I’m doing it all, I’m doing it all on my own,’ blah-blah and I’m like, ‘I don’t want to do it all on my own,'” she told host Keltie Knight before adding that her mother Maria Shriver and sister Christina Schwarzenegger joined her on a recent promotional book tour to help with the babies.
She stated that she would have been severely hurt if she hadn’t brought her mom and sister. “I want a sister, a mom, my friends and my girlfriends to help me. I will be open and honest, and say that I can’t do this today. My child is sick. My child is sick. She was awake all night, teething.
“So, I believe being open about the truth that you don’t have to do everything, you can turn to people, get help from others, and being comfortable with that is important,” she said. “That is, I feel is such a struggle for women in general. But I think that it is especially true if you are balancing multiple roles. It is okay to say, ‘I need assistance today’.
