SARAH SOTOODEH & LILLIAN GISSEN FOR DAILMAIL.COM
TV host Nick Cannon has 12 children with six different women.
Nick is a father to Mariah Carey and LaNisha Cole. He also has children with Brittany Bell, Brittany Bell and Bre Tiesi.
His children include Monroe and Moroccan, Onyx and Rise, Powerful and Legendary, Onyx and Rise, Powerful and Golden, Powerful and Legendary, Halo and Zen (he died), Beautiful, Zion, and Zillion.
Alyssa was pregnant and confirmed Nick’s fathership in November 2022. This just 11 months after Zen had died of brain cancer.
Cannon, with his ex-wife Mariah Carey, is proud to be the father of 11-year-old twins Monroe & Moroccan.
He welcomed Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi, his eighth child on June 28, 2022.
Nick’s ninth baby, Onyxice with LaNisha Colley, was born September 14, 2022.
Two weeks later, Nick welcomed his 10th baby, Rise Messiah Cannon, to Brittany Bell. Brittany Bell already has two children, daughter Powerful Queen (two) and Golden (five).
Nick and Alyssa Scott welcomed baby number 12, Halo Marie Cannon. She was born December 14, 2022.
They also had a son, but he died in 2021. Alyssa and Nick lost their beloved son Zen to a brain tumour on December 5, 2021.
Zen suffered from hydrocephalus in the past. This is when fluid builds up within the brain cavities and expands the ventricles, putting pressure onto the brain.
Zen was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor and was quickly admitted to surgery. Zen survived the surgery, but his health started to decline around Thanksgiving. He died on December 5.
We knew that Zen’s time here on earth would be short. Scott shared his previous Instagram post, “We knew he wouldn’t make it to see six months.” “I am eternally thankful he was in arms of those who loved him most.
He had his 11th child with his baby mama Abby De La Rosa – daughter Beautiful Zeppelin on November 11, 2022; they also share twin sons Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, one.
Ex-wife Mariah Carey and daughter Monroe with son Moroccan
Nick and Mariah Carey tied the knot on in the Bahamas in 2008, and they welcomed the rapper’s first kids on April 30, 2011 – a set of twins named Monroe and Moroccan Scott.
People reports that Monroe was named after Marilyn Monroe who was a source of inspiration for Mariah. Because Mariah doesn’t have one, they decided to not give her a middle-name.
As for Moroccan, the idea for his name came from the Moroccan décor in Mariah’s apartment, which is where Nick proposed to her.
His middle name, Scott, is also Nick’s middle name and his grandmother’s maiden name.
In December, Nick, now 11 years old and in the wake Zen’s death, spoke out about the difficulty he had to tell his twins about Zen’s passing. However, he credits their support, particularly Monroe, for helping him through the tragedy.
Monroe was a’so pure, so honest’ person that he said he is and called him his ‘best therapist’
‘Having the ability to explain it to [then]People has learned that the -10-year olds… are quite intense.” He admitted it to People.
“But their understanding, and being there to me probably helped keep it together as I dealt with it. Roc and Roe in particular. They were with us for the whole journey.
“My daughter, she’s really, she is so in tune, in line, and wise beyond her years. She’s my best therapist. I had many therapists.
“She keeps me in control. She is so open and honest. She’s 10 and she asks some very powerful and important questions.
“Really, it’s just love. She’s my oldest daughter. She is my oldest child, even though they are twins. She’s been a great help.
In 2016, Nick, after the birth his second son, Golden was born, opened up about their relationship and revealed that they enjoyed having a younger sibling.
Entertainment Tonight heard that they love spending time with him. It is almost as if they are more interested in him having fun than having fun together.
“They always try to make them laugh and he is now walking, so they are trying all the toys for him.
They have seen the entire older sibling thing unfold and they now understand their responsibility. They know that they can help him learn, which is great.
He called them “geniuses” and said he wasn’t happy with their rapid growth.
“I am fine with my son growing-up.” He laughed and said, ‘It’s my daughter I have a problem. ‘I mean, shotgun’s loaded.’
In 2016, he said that he and Mariah had come to an understanding and unreserved love for the twins.
He said, “When you have a sense of understanding and unconditional love for many things, it’s impossible to go wrong.”
It would be easy to let our egos get in the way of what we think we should do with our time and energy, but then you have to step back.
“When it comes down to my children, it is what they want at any time. I plan my day around that.
Both of us consider our children the most important. It turned her into a wonderful mother. I feel like the whole world began to connect with her on this level.
“There will always be unconditional and great love. This is my best friend in life. It will always be like that.
“The fact that there is no blood tampering and we can still live together, I think that that is the best place.
Sons Golden and Rise Messiah and daughter Powerful queen, with Brittany Bell
After his split from Mariah, Nick dated Phoenix Suns dancer Brittany Bell on-and-off for years.
On February 21, 2017, they welcomed a son, Golden Sagon.
Nick posted on Instagram at the time: “Weeping may last for a night but joy comes in the morning!”
“No matter how difficult the world can be, God will always remind us of our purpose. You are welcome on Earth, my son. #TrueHappiness #Awakened.’
According to reports, the couple split. However, in November 2020, Brittany was seen walking hand-in–hand with him at his 33rd Birthday Celebration. Brittany had a growing baby bump.
They then welcomed their second child, Powerful Queen, in December 2020.
Brittany, who is also an actress, shared the message via Instagram at that time: “The greatest gift ever,”
‘We have been surprised with… A GIRL! Perfect timing for Christmas: Queen Cannon, the powerful queen of power, arrived this week.
“So many more things to share. I can only say that Nick was my rock throughout the most intense, yet empowering natural birth of water.
“It was nothing except POWERFUL. Merry Christmas! THANK YOU GOD.
Nick was then asked by Power 106 radio hosts if Nick believed her pregnancy was accidental a month later.
‘I’m having these kids on purpose,’ he said. ‘I didn’t have no accident. [There were] a lot of people that I could’ve gotten pregnant that I didn’t. The only thing that matters is your last chance at life.
In December 2021 just after Powerful queen’s first birthday, Masked Singer host was raving about how smart and intelligent she was on Instagram.
He shared a clip in which she used words such as “nose, cat,” dog, and tree while he presented flashcards to her.
‘Wow! This baby is amazing! He captioned it. ‘They were mad that we called her POWERFUL QUEEN! Y’all lucky I didn’t go with my other choice GENIUS EMPRESS!
‘LOL. I can’t take any of the credit here though! That’s all her amazing mommy.’
Brittany and Nick welcomed their third child, Rise Messiah, on September 23, 2022. He weighed in at 10lbs.
Sons Zion Mixolydian, Zillion Heir, and Beautiful Zeppelin, daughter of Abby De La Rosa
Nick and Abby, who is a DJ and broadcast professional, kept their relationship a secret until they announced that they were expecting twin boys together in April 2021.
Abby wrote the following message on Instagram in a now-deleted caption: “Our dearest children – my miracle baby, thank you”
“I believe the Lord has predestined me and prepared for me to receive the gift of not just one, but two little angels.
“I pray God gives you both strength to stand boldly and courageously in your individual truth like your daddy… God bless you and your brothers and help you live your true purpose.
“Your dad will always be there for you, and I will always support you both in total unison.”
No matter what life throws at your way, remember that forgiveness is key. And what is for you is for yourself! We are so in love with you both and can’t wait for you to meet us.
The boys – who they named named Zion and Zillion – were born on June 14, 2021.
In an Instagram Q&A, Abby later revealed that she and Nick accidentally got pregnant in April 2020, but sadly, they lost that baby. After that, Abby and Nick became more focused on trying to conceive again.
She explained that although April 2020 was the first pregnancy, it was not planned. However, Nick was a great friend of mine and was so helpful to me. Then, our focus shifted to having a child. We never imagined that we would end up with twins.
This planning was more than us looking at a schedule and thinking, “You gotta become pregnant by this date.” It was already a thought, and it came to pass.
“It was already out there, it wasn’t something we were manifesting. We were just letting it flow.”
They are now preparing to welcome their third child, which is yet unknown, together.
Abby, a pregnant woman, confirmed Nick’s fathership on November 9, 2022.
He gave birth to Beautiful Zeppelin, the 11th of his children, on November 11, 2022.
Bre Tiei and Son Legendary Love
Nick revealed that he was pregnant with his eighth child in January. The couple were photographed at a gender reveal to celebrate their news of having a baby boy.
The happy news was shared by him on an episode his now-cancelled talk show, The Nick Cannon Show. He said at the time, “It’s actually a boy!” Yesterday was the day we found out. Everyone knows that I have many kids. It’s not a contest. Each one is unique.
Bre posted to Instagram to announce Legendary Love’s birth. She said that Legendary Love had been born in an “all natural unmedicated birth” and that Nick was a ‘great and supportive partner’.
Legendary was created on June 28, 2022.
While sharing several black-and white photos from her labor and birth, she wrote: “I did it.” “All natural, unmedicated home birth.
“This was the most humble and limit pushing experience, but also the most inspiring and empowering. I can’t thank my team enough for delivering my son safely. This experience has changed me forever and I couldn’t [have] A more supportive and amazing partner was requested.
Daddy was the one who showed up for us… I couldn’t [have] done it without you. I can’t believe he’s here.’
Images taken during the birth show Nick caring for his partner during her labor, even taking a bath with her at one point, possibly to try and ease her contraction pain.
A photo of the proud mom and dad with their newborn baby also shows Nick cutting his son’s umbilical chord, while wrapping a protective arm around his son and partner Bre, who also shared video footage from her birth on YouTube.
‘The vlog of my birth is now live on my YouTube,’ she revealed. ‘I have documented my pregnancy, natural induction, labor, delivery as well as more information and resources for doulas midwife’s and hypno birthing. It’s real raw and I hope It helps anyone considering an unmedicated home birth.’
In her YouTube video, Bre documented her experience of labor, sharing clips of herself trying to work through the pain of her contractions and impending delivery – with Nick by her side the whole time.
The new mom revealed that the couple’s son Legendary Love weighed 8lbs 10oz at birth and measured at 21 inches, adding in an intro slide: ‘Trigger warning. This video is quite intense. It is my real and raw natural birth experience with a lot of screaming and [it] is a little graphic.
‘Viewer discretion advised.’
She also revealed that the couple had something of a scare during the birth, explaining that her son had a ‘long crown’ because his hand was up by his ear when he was born – a condition known as nucal hand.
‘So he needed a little respiratory support from [my midwife],’ she wrote. ‘I noticed he wasn’t crying…’
Daughter Onyx with LaNisha Cole
Nick Cannon made the surprise announcement that he had welcomed his ninth child
The actor, 41, shocked fans as he took to Instagram in September 2022 to announce that he had welcomed a child with 40-year-old model LaNisha Cole.
He shared a snap of the proud new parents with the bundle of joy – a daughter – with a lengthy caption which revealed the child’s name is Onyx Ice Cole Cannon, born on September 14, 2022.
The lengthy caption began: ‘Introducing ONYX ICE COLE CANNON… Once again Today I am in Awe of the Devine Feminine! God has given me and @MissLanishaCole the privilege of hosting an Angel here on earth. I vow to protect, provide, guide and love this child to the best of my abilities.’
As he has impregnated several women over the years, he went on to explain that though he as skin thick enough to deal with the criticism, it doesn’t exactly run in his family.
He wrote: ‘As we all know I am not easily triggered and have quite tough skin and have always been an open book but not everyone in my family has that same level of strength. So I pray and ask others to please project all criticism and cynicism towards ME and not the loving and precious Mothers of my children.’
Nick was romantically linked to LaNisha in February 2021 as she shared a now deleted video of him in a room filled with balloons, however, they split at the end of the month.
LaNisha is an American fashion model who was best known for her eight seasons as a rotating model on The Price Is Right hosted by Bob Barker then Drew Carey.
Son Zen and daughter Halo with Alyssa Scott
Nick met Alyssa Scott when they both starred in MTV’s Wild ‘N Out. Years later – in January 2021 – they announced that they were having a baby together.
Their son, Zen, was born on June 23, 2021, with Alyssa writing at the time, ‘I will love you for eternity.’
But when the baby was two months old, they noticed he had come down with a cough that wouldn’t go away, and decided to have it checked out by doctors.
‘I always noticed he had a cough and so I wanted to check it out,’ Nick later said on The Nick Cannon Show.
‘He had this interesting breathing and by the time he was two months, I noticed he had this nice sized head too, we called it a Cannon head.
‘We didn’t think anything of it, but I wanted to take him to the doctor for his sinus and breathing.’
After taking the newborn in for a ‘routine’ checkup, they were told he had a malignant tumor and needed emergency surgery immediately.
He had also developed hydrocephalus – a condition where fluid builds up in the cavities of the brain causing the head to increase in size and ultimately putting pressure on the brain.
He unfortunately passed away on December 5, 2021 – spending his last moments by the ocean.
‘He was the most loving. We called him Z Chilling. He was always smiling. He had the most beautiful spirit,’ Nick said after his death.
On the Today show, Nick praised Alyssa – ‘who carried a beautiful child for nine months and nurtured and cared for him every single day through this process’ – for her ‘strength.’
‘[Alyssa] is strong,’ he said. ‘She is definitely one of the strongest individuals I’ve known.
‘I couldn’t imagine – I mean, as a father, it’s painful, but for a mother who carried a beautiful child for nine months and nurtured and cared for him every single day through this process.
“There were so much medicine and so many trips at the hospital and to the doctor. She’s also a mother-of-2 so to watch her go though this …’
He said that he was using his faith to help him through the terrible loss.
‘I’m taking this – my therapist says so – five minutes at the time. However, I’m optimistic in finding the meaning through all of the pain so I’m trying smile. There are certainly some curves along the journey so I’m taking it five at a.
‘Honestly [there] There was much fear involved [in telling people about Zen’s death]. I’m used to being outspoken and upbeat, sometimes even vulnerable. I’ll talk about everything.
“But this was probably one of the most delicate and precious things I have ever had to speak about.
“And I didn’t have the words to describe it. I had never imagined that I would be forced to live in this situation. There was so much love and there was clearly some fear.
Alyssa: “I wanted to be the protector for my family as well,” [everyone]So I decided to… It is a delicate subject, even when you are discussing it.
“And that’s coming a person who is used talking to people every day here on TV. It’s scary.’
Nick shared his grief after Nick’s tragic death. He spoke out about the guilt he felt at having to split his time between being a father and working.
“I am a father. “I feel a lot guilt, and I talk about it in therapy all of the time,” he said.
It’s due to not being able to spend enough time with my loved ones, especially my children.
“I’m also spread thin at work because that’s the way I cope. This is how I handle things.
“I have multiple jobs and many shows, movies, music, and other entertainment. Although I consider myself a provider for many things, the one thing that I cannot generate no matter how much money or what I do is time.
“It’s not all about quantity. It’s about quality. Quality moments with my children and my family are the most important things.
“Had many quality moments with Zen during his brief time here. Time is a manmade construct, but energy and love are a blessing.
In an Instagram post, the star confessed that he still misses Zen just days before Bre and his gender reveal party in January 2022.
‘Still missing my little dude… His spirit and brightness were so strong #ZensLight,’ he captioned a throwback snap that showed Moroccan, Zion, Zillion, and Monroe sitting with him, as he held Zen.
He continued: “The whole family, I miss you young King!” Forever Our Angel!’
Alyssa, who was pregnant with Nick, confirmed that Nick was her father in early November.
Alyssa was the mother of his 12th child, HaloMarie Cannon. She was born in December 2022.
