- Robert Castillo, 40 years old, from St. Paul (Minnesota), has been charged with second degree murder. He allegedly stabbed Corinna, 41, in the stomach.

Robert Castillo, 40-year-old from St. Paul in Minnesota, was charged with second degree murder. He allegedly stabbed Corinna, 41, as they were attending Bible study on Maryland Avenue at his sister’s home on Tuesday.
CBS Minnesota reports that Castillo stabbed Woodhull 20 times with a 6-inch blade after whispering something in her ear. Witnesses claimed that the mother-of-5 pleaded with them to not let her go after he stabbed her.
Castillo’s sister claimed that Castillo and Castillo had been acting normally prior to the stabbing and that Castillo was kissing and holding her hand, according to Pioneer Press.
Castillo used a hunting knife to stab Woodhull, as did his sister and brother. Castillo tried to grab Woodhull’s hair, to pull him away from her, but his family intervened and pulled him away.
She couldn’t even breathe after one of the stab wounds punctured her heart. Paramedics arrived at 9pm.
Castillo was being dragged to the ground by several relatives when police knocked at their doors. According to the complaint, another witness stated that Castillo would attack more people if not disarmed.
According to Pioneer Press reports, his sister said that he always had a knife with him to ‘protect himself’.
Woodhull was found unconscious on the ground, with severe injuries to her arms, chest and torso. The mother-of-5 was declared dead upon arrival.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled her death as a homicide.
According to CBS Minnesota Castillo’s older brother, he told investigators that Woodhull and Castillo were having marital difficulties. Castillo spoke briefly with investigators to confirm that the two were no longer living together but had been legally married the past two years.
He asked investigators if Woodhull was okay and then shook his head when he was informed that she had died.
Erin Honken, who has been a friend of Woodhull for over a decade, stated that she tried to run from him, but Castillo continued insisting on their continuing relationship.
Castillo was detained and taken to Ramsey County Jail with a $5million bond.
Castillo was on a warrant for his arrest at the time of the stabbing. He had failed to appear for a pretrial hearing regarding assaulting an officer in Washington County prison.
Castillo has eight felonies to his name, including assault and burglary.
He was also convicted of beating his baby motherma with a hammer in her house. He received 10 years.
Woodhull worked for Juel fairbanks Recovery Services, a substance-abuse treatment facility. On Wednesday, the company honored Woodhull by writing: “We are sad to announce that Corrina Woodhull died tragically last night.
“Corrina had such light that she gave it to everyone. Corrina was a force of nature. She was strong-willed and had a tremendous amount of strength. She was a generous person with a big heart who wanted to help others. Juel Fairbanks will miss her greatly. We will be praying for her family, clients and staff.
A family friend started a GoFundMe account to “raise money to honor Corrina’s life and legacy.”
Corrina was a champion for people in recovery. She had a passion for helping others who were suffering from substance abuse, domestic violence and other forms of domestic abuse.
