Every parent has struggled to get their child to take medication.
When it doesn’t end in tears, it’s likely they’re being stubborn or shouting over their dislike of the taste.
This is where it ends. A mum has found a clever solution to getting her daughter to take medicine without complaining. And the secret lies in chocolate.
Dubbed the ‘chaser’ method, Morgan Woodruff took to her TikTok account to share how she does it with ease.
“This video is a couple of years old but forever my best parenting hack,” she wrote as the clip began.
In the short video, she can be seen opening her daughter’s mouth and holding her nose before tipping her head back slightly and giving her the medication in a small silver container.

“Go,” she says, before instructing her daughter to swallow it all. She then takes a bottle of Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup.
“Chaser,” Morgan says as she squeezes some of the syrup into her daughter’s mouth.
“My kiddo has sensory issues and would get sick anytime she took meds,” [sic] She wrote over that.
In the caption, she added: “A little chocolate never hurt the kid and now we no longer have meltdowns over the occasional medicine.
“A win is a win”.
People were quick to comment on the video, praising her over her willingness to work through her daughter’s sensory issues.
“It makes me so happy seeing parents work with their kid’s sensory issues instead of punishing them for having them,” one person wrote.
Another said: “I am a full grown adult with no sensory issues and I cannot take liquid medication without a chaser! I hate the stuff.”
A third shared: “I have sensory issues, taking medicine is so hard for me! Best mom award & I’m totally trying this! Lol”. [sic]
“I did the same with my kid but we use sprite because the bubbles helped to distract him,” another said.
While a fourth added: “That is amazing! I’m gonna tell my parents to try this.”
