Serena Williams did not hold back when she announced that she was expecting her second child at the Met Gala on Monday.
The 41-year-old tennis champion even recorded video footage leading up to her instantly iconic moment, when she stepped from her car and revealed the secret.
The mom of Olympia, a 5-year-old girl, gave her fans a look behind the scenes as she prepared for the big unveiling at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
The video was narrated by the four-time Olympic Gold Medal winner, who said, “Olympia doesn’t know that I am currently pregnant.”
The big reveal will take place at the Met. I’ll then tell Olympia just before we leave.
She said: “The reason I didn’t tell her is that she can’t hold a secret.”
The short video showed Serena getting ready for the gala as well as a shot of her with her husband Alexis Ohanian, 40, in the car on their way to the Met Gala.
The clip ended with Serena exiting the car. She revealed her pregnancy to everyone.
Serena wasn’t the only Met Gala Guest to announce a pregnancy.
Karlie Kloss (30), a model, also revealed her pregnancy on Monday.
She is also pregnant with her second child. She shares a son Levi, 2 with her husband Joshua Kushner.
Karlie shared on Tuesday a photo with Serena taken at the gala.
Karlie captioned the photo in which she and her friend showed off their baby bumps while wearing their Met Gala outfits.
Serena shared a picture of her and her husband on Monday.
In another, husband and spouse stand smiling together in a photo where she is holding her pregnancy bump.
She captioned the post: ‘Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala.’
The seven-time Wimbledon champ revealed she wanted to have another child when she retired from tennis.
