The Knights of Columbus of Byers gave a $2,200 check to A Caring Pregnancy Resource Center of Northeast Colorado last week. This money will help young women and men who are facing unplanned pregnancy in the area. The money raised will go towards free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds and specific needs such as car seat and pack and play for pregnant families. The center thanked them for their support to families on the northeast plains in Colorado.
West St. & Acoma Four-way Stop started Thursday
Two additional stop signs placed on West Street to halt traffic both ways on West Street on Thursday made the intersection of West Street with Acoma a four-way halt.
This new traffic control measure is being implemented amid growing dissatisfaction in the community with traffic congestion and what residents claim to be a dangerous intersection caused by a poor line-of-sight when driving eastbound across West from Acoma.
New stop signs are being installed at Acoma, on both sides West Street. Already, electronic message boards have been installed in the vicinity to warn motorists about the upcoming change.
